Last run: Treadmill 5.0 Miles
Last ride: Evening Commute (Clinton Township to Lewis Center) 12.8 Miles.
I had an earlier blog. One which was supposed intended as a running commentary on a website that I have called Columbus Trails & Greenways (www.jnybny.com). Since most of the trenchant commentary related to trail construction or detours, that ended up on the update page and I was left to discusses pretty much nothing besides my own past history of running and cycling and some current pet peeves. Hardly the stuff anyone other than a close relative could love to read.
Couple that to the fact that I was going through some upheavals at work, was suffering the after effects of knee surgery and had embarked on a campaign to get back into shape and lose weight and it was easy to see that I was going to be off topic more than on. And probably boringly so. It seemed judicious to dump the old blog.
Happily, some months later, the work situation has stabilized; the knee is in great shape and I am, as of yesterday, some 60 lbs lighter. Lately, I have taken to commuting by cycle once or twice a week--a feat I would have considered impossible six months ago. The proximate cause of returning to this blogging thing is to put out my experiences both leading up to starting this activity, some thoughts and techniques as well as, hopefully, some interesting but, hopefully, not injurious experiences going forward. I suppose there will be some catch-up at first.
